 
Other Portuguese horse tack
Here you can find several Portuguese horse tack and Baroque horse tack which is in general
used with the Portuguese saddles and bridles. For instance the stirrups from the
above image on the left hand side show Portuguese stirrups existing in prints from 1790 included
in the book “Luz da Liberal, e Nobre Arte da Cavallaria ” by Manoel Carlos de
Andrade which is a record from the stirrups in use at the time in Portugal. The
stirrup on the left is a very similar to the one used in the XVIII century, by “Picaria
Real” and today by the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art. There are also several other models from Portuguese stirrups including armoured stirrups as well as other traditional
Portuguese horse tack. There are several Portuguese models of cavessons for
shows or for lunging. There are two model of Portuguese halters, the traditional halter and a model made for shows.
